Cookie Policy

Last updated April 28, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how BTWN Calendars (“Company,” “we,” “us,” and “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website at https://btwncalendars.com (the “Website”). It explains what these technologies are, why we use them, and your options for controlling them.

We do not use cookies for advertising, do not run third-party advertising trackers, and do not sell or share cookie data.

1. WHAT ARE COOKIES?

Cookies are small data files placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work or work more efficiently, and to provide reporting information.

Cookies set by the website operator (in this case, BTWN Calendars) are called “first-party cookies.” Cookies set by parties other than the website operator are called “third-party cookies.” The third-party cookies we rely on come from our sub-processors (Firebase and Vercel) and exist solely to support authentication, hosting, and reliability.

2. WHY DO WE USE COOKIES?

We use cookies and similar local-storage mechanisms strictly to operate the Website. Specifically:

  • To keep you signed in and maintain your session.
  • To protect your account from cross-site request forgery (CSRF) and other security threats.
  • To remember basic preferences (such as theme or last-visited team).
  • To diagnose performance issues, errors, and availability problems.

We do not use cookies for marketing, advertising, profiling, or cross-site tracking.

3. CATEGORIES OF COOKIES WE USE

Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are required for the Website to function and cannot be switched off. They are usually set in response to actions you take, such as signing in. They include:

  • Firebase Authentication— session and ID tokens (stored in cookies and browser storage) used to keep you signed in.
  • Next.js / Vercel— routing, deployment, and security cookies set by our hosting platform.

Performance & Diagnostic Cookies

These help us understand how the Website performs and identify errors. They are not used to track you across sites or build advertising profiles.

  • Firebase Performance Monitoring— sampling identifiers used to measure database read latency, network requests, and runtime errors.

4. HOW CAN I CONTROL COOKIES?

Because the cookies we set are strictly necessary or used only for reliability diagnostics, we do not currently provide an in-app cookie preference center. You can still control cookies through your browser settings, but blocking the cookies above will prevent you from signing in or using the Services.

Browser-specific instructions:

5. OTHER TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES

In addition to cookies, the Website may use related browser-storage mechanisms such as localStorage, sessionStorage, and IndexedDB (used by Firebase Authentication to persist your sign-in state). These work similarly to cookies but are managed by the browser’s storage controls rather than its cookie controls. Clearing site data through your browser will remove them.

We do not use web beacons, tracking pixels, Flash cookies, or any email-tracking technologies.
